Our local ales

Bowness Bay Brewing  Swan Blonde 4.0%

Immerse your taste buds in the compellingly crisp, deliciously dry hoppishness of Swan Blonde and sail away on a journey of gorgeously pale Windermere water freshness. Made with light malts, pioneer, aurora and citra hops. This is our most popular beer with so many tourists and local residents saying its the best they've ever tasted!

Jennings Cumberland Ale ABV 4.0%

In cocker mouth in Cumbria a delightful batch of Cumberland ale is being brewed this Jennings ale is nationwide a firm favorite pint and is Jennings best selling brand outside the lake district. The ale is used with water from the breweries own well. This full bodied golden ale brewed with pale ale malt and some of England’s finest hops. Truly an ideal beer for the seasoned ale professionals or for the modern day ale drinker.

Barngates Brewery TagLag 4.4%

Essentialy our regular local real ale. Brewed 2 miles from Hawkshead at famous The Drunken Duck Inn.

A pale amber beer with a fresh, spicy hop, aroma; smooth and sweetly malty to begin but a lasting, bitter finish.

If anyone ever asks us which one to try, our answer is always the same, "A pint of Tag".

Watermill Ings Colliewobbles 3.7%

We are a big fan of anything brewed by The Watermill here at The Sun and have had every brew on at least once (with popular reception!). Colliewobbles is their flagship session ale.

A pale gold bitter with a slight citrus taste. A good hop and malt balance gives way to a thirst quenching dry finish.

This is the perfect beer to neck after a leg-wearing fell walk or a lung-busting mountainbike ride!
